🎶 Teaching Philosophy
My teaching is grounded in patience, lived experience, and a deep love of music. I begin by getting to know each student...their goals, their musical tastes, and how they learn best. From there, I design personalized lesson plans that spark curiosity, build momentum, and encourage long-term growth.
I take a flexible, student-centred approach, using popular genres and students’ favourite songs to teach music theory and develop both the technical and practical skills needed for their chosen instrument. I also incorporate modern technology and music apps when helpful to enhance learning.
Teaching each student differently based on how they learn best, I regularly update my students’ personal goals, and adjust my lesson plans and motivational strategies accordingly. I believe that as teachers we should find ways to make the student want to practice rather than leave them feeling that they have to practice.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to expand your skills, lessons are designed to be practical, encouraging, and rewarding. I want every student to walk away with not only stronger technique, but a lasting connection to music.
I also want our music lessons to go beyond the classroom—into real life, where the joy of music truly comes alive. It could be jamming with your uncle in the living room, singing harmonies with your grandma, or learning your favourite songs with your parents after dinner. Or maybe it’s the thrill of standing tall on a professional stage, under the warm glow of spotlights, performing for a full audience while your loved ones cheer from the crowd.

Music Theory & Ear Training
Every student receives a foundation in music theory and ear training as part of regular lessons—it’s essential for building strong musical instincts. For students seeking a more in-depth exploration, a dedicated course is available. This program is particularly suited for adolescents preparing for post-secondary music auditions or examinations, and for individuals aiming to refine their theoretical comprehension, enhance ear training, and strengthen relative pitch.
Songwriting & Music Production
A popular, hands-on course open to all students—including those who don’t play a traditional instrument. We explore songwriting, theory, beat-making and recording basics in a fun, creative way. Perfect for budding songwriters, beatmakers, or anyone curious about crafting music from scratch.

Flexible, Fair, and Family-Friendly Scheduling
At my studio, you only pay for the lessons you attend. There are no long-term contracts or yearly commitments, and families can reschedule or cancel with reasonable notice. Only late cancellations or no-shows are charged. This approach ensures that your investment goes directly toward meaningful lesson time while still maintaining a consistent schedule that supports steady progress.

I appreciate 24 hours' notice for rescheduling. That said—I’m a parent too and I know that sometimes life happens! Just give me a heads-up and I’ll do my best to accommodate.
Missed lessons without notice will be billed at the regular rate.
