About Me

Hi, I’m Norm, also known as The River Norm. I’m a recording artist and music teacher, writing songs inspired by real life. My music blends folk, pop, and jazz, shaped by the sounds I grew up with and the memories that stay with me.

I’m a Filipino-Canadian who grew up in Montreal, Quebec. Music has since taken me across the world and back. I’ve had the honour of serving as a music director for incredibly talented artists, but my greatest joy has always been crafting songs that speak from the heart.

Becoming a dad shifted my focus toward teaching, driven by the desire to stay close to home and be present for my kids. Teaching has become not just a career, but an extension of my passion for music and connection.

Now based on the West Coast, I’m focused on releasing one song at a time...simple, honest recordings that reflect where I’ve been and where I’m going, while running my music school and teaching business. Thanks for being part of the journey.
